Environmental Monitoring Services

The best way to evaluate the effectiveness of your current environmental service strategy is to determine the microbial load from environmental surface, air and water samples. ResInnova Laboratories will determine the total aerobic microbial load on any surface and identify the presence of specific microbes. This service includes evaluating the microbial burden on samples from environmental surfaces, air, and water.

Overview of the sampling process:

  1. New Client video training session and assessment of technique.

  2. Sample kit delivery
    • Sampling kit contents are customizable to your needs, but all kits will arrive in an insulated box and contain a sampling protocol, sample ID and chain of custody forms, sampling materials, and an ice pack

  3. Follow test protocols to sample desired test locations
    • High contact areas, like door handles and light switches, make ideal targets for surface sampling
    • Ensure that all samples are properly labeled and that all forms are properly filled out
  4. At the conclusion of sampling, all samples should be placed inside the insulated container with a cold ice pack and shipped overnight to ResInnova

The available evaluations for each surface sample include:

  • Total Aerobic Microbial Count
  • Total Aerobic Mold Count
  • MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus)
  • VRE (vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus sp.)
  • CRE (carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales)
  • CRAB (carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii)
  • Pseudomonas sp. (such as P. aeruginosa)
  • Candida sp. (such as C. auris)
  • C. difficile
  • E. coli
  • Listeria sp.
  • Salmonella sp. (including S. typhi)
  • Isolate identification is available for an additional fee upon request.
